Does your camper have what it takes to be a Quidditch champion? How about a Greek sword fighter or Roman legionnaire? If your camper loves imagining their favorite fictional worlds and learning new games, they will enjoy the Games of Literature Camp where they will explore games from popular literature. Highlights of the camp include: learning to play Calvinball from Bill Waterson’s comic Calvin and Hobbes, joining a Camp Half-Blood cabin in learning to play a Rick Riordan-inspired capture the flag, and developing tactics to survive a Hunger Games from Suzanne Collins’ hit series. Each day, campers will get a chance to investigate the world created by an author, find their place in that world, and then learn to play games/engage in competitions from the series. Games will include a mix of active outdoor games and indoor card/board games. Your camper does not need to have any prior knowledge of the books or games, they just need to come out with an open and eager mind.

Games of Literature Camp is led by current SSSAS Lower School Teacher Joe Lindsay. Please contact Mr. Lindsay at jlindsay@sssas.org or at 703-975-4840 with your questions.
